Hello! I’m Chay (pronounced SH-ay), a native New Yorker, a home cook, wife and mother of 2 teenage daughters now living in the Pennsylvania countryside.
My health journey began about 15 years ago after the birth of our second child. Following a string of confusing doctor visits, I was diagnosed with multiple autoimmune conditions, digestive issues, and eventually Lyme disease. I decided to take matters into my own hands and search for ways to reclaim my health naturally.
It’s been a ton of hard work, but I’ve recovered using a combination of functional medicine, lifestyle changes, and the undeniable power of functional nutrition. My diet today looks a lot different than it did 15 years ago but I still love making traditional recipes for family and friends and have been challenged to cook these foods alongside my personal dietary needs.
I created The Kitchen Commune with the intention of solving a modern problem for home cooks, parents, and hosts: Unifying a meal while taking multiple dietary needs or allergies into consideration. I’ll help you learn how to prepare simple and healthy meals that are inclusive and delicious for everyone at your table!
